KOA Vail Lake in Temecula has it all—mini golf, golf carts, live music, and a lively pool scene. It’s family camping at its best, and hands-down our favorite spot so far.

Even though our trip to Santee Lakes took an unexpected turn when my husband had to head home with COVID, the kids and I made the most of it. Hot afternoons were spent swimming to cool off, and in the evenings we rode scooters along the creek under the stars. It turned into a simple, sweet adventure that reminded us why we love camping with Cassie.

Woods Valley Campground is a hidden gem in Valley Center, CA—shady trees, a fishing pond, and spacious sites that let kids and dogs roam free. It’s the kind of spot that feels like real camping while still being close to home.

After a few trips getting familiar with Cassie, we truly found a camping spot that felt like “us.” Boulevard KOA, nestled in Southern California’s high desert, captured a rustic charm from the moment we arrived.

Bringing Cassie home was unforgettable. From battling wild winds at Utah Lake, to fishing and saying goodbye at Otter Creek, to learning what we don’t love at Hurricane KOA—it was the perfect mix of adventure, family, and learning what RV life is all about. It set the stage for many more trips to come.
