Inside Cassie: Making Our Camper Feel Like Home

When we first brought home Cassie, our Coachmen 274BH, we knew we wanted her to feel more than just a camper. With kids and a dog in tow, “homey and organized” became our mantra. Over time, we’ve found little ways to make Cassie feel like our own cozy getaway — part tiny home, part adventure hub.

A Kitchen That Works for Us

Cooking in a camper can feel cramped, but we’ve set up Cassie’s kitchen to make mealtime easy and enjoyable. A few of our favorite hacks:

  • Magnetic spice rack on the fridge for easy access without taking up precious counter space.

  • Stackable bins in the pantry so snacks, dry goods, and kid-favorites all have a home.

  • Hooks for mugs and utensils, which not only free up drawers but also add a little farmhouse-cute vibe.

  • Collapsible bowls and measuring cups, which save a ton of storage space.

The result? A kitchen that feels functional but still cozy enough to make pancakes on a Sunday morning or prep s’mores kits for the fire pit.

Bathroom Bliss (Yes, Really!)

It may be the smallest space in Cassie, but keeping the bathroom organized has been a game-changer:

  • Over-the-door organizer for toiletries — everyone has their own pocket, so there’s no arguing over toothbrushes.

  • Rolling towels instead of folding keeps them compact and easy to grab.

  • Little baskets under the sink to corral sunscreen, bug spray, and first-aid supplies.

It’s amazing how a few storage tweaks can turn a tiny bathroom into a space that actually works for a family.

Cozy Decor Touches

Beyond organization, we wanted Cassie to feel like a retreat. Some of the touches that make her feel warm and inviting:

  • Throw blankets and soft pillows on the bunks and main bed for instant comfort.

  • Removable wallpaper in a couple of spots to brighten the space and make it feel less “RV beige.”

  • Battery-operated candles and fairy lights that give evenings a soft, cozy glow without needing to flip on harsh overhead lights.

  • A small rug by the door to make it feel more like a living room (and catch all the dirt the kids track in).

Our Takeaway

Inside Cassie, every inch counts. By keeping things organized and adding a few cozy details, we’ve created a space that feels less like “roughing it” and more like an adventure-ready home. It’s the little touches — a tidy bathroom, a well-stocked kitchen, a warm glow at night — that make Cassie the perfect launchpad for family memories.
